PEX vs. Copper Piping

With certain disadvantages of copper as being expensive as compared to PEX people mostly prefer using PEX due to low prices. PEX


PEX also is known as crosslinked polyethylene was first introduced and used in the United States in around 1980. One of the most common used of PEX can be observed in the making of heat flooring applications for home and offices, with low prices as compared to very high copper prices PEX has become one of the key choices for complex and conventional plumbing and piping solutions.  The selection of PEX to be installed in offices and homes can be based on several key factors such as cost, flexibility, corrosion resistance, durability and the content of chlorine. PEX is widely preferred due to its very fast installation characteristic that can be done by professionals even with less experience due to simple and fewer fitting connections.  

PEX is considered to perform well as compared to copper with it extra efficiency to withstand extreme climatic conditions and temperatures and can act exceptionally well against high temperature and does not loose heat like copper. With lots of advantages, PEX is however not a very good piping option for equipping outside your home due to is extra resistance against freezing temperatures and more likely bursting. The most preferred factor of PEX piping is that is can be installed even with less experienced professionals with basic tools such as cinch or crimp rings and clamping tool.
